Max and Kaitlyn received recognition during the school’s weekly assembly today. Max got his for “reading” a book. Kaitlyn got two. One for a picture showing different representations of fractions and the other for, “Achievement Certificate” “…presented to celebrate good work, effort, behaviour and progress.” The Head Teacher, Mrs Chambers, explained to Heather, this certificate is hard to earn due to all the steps needed to complete.

Althorp Visit
Went here in September. Finally got the pictures up.
Got the opportunity to go on a trip to Althorp. This is the location of Princess Diana’s final resting place and is her ancestral home. Her brother, Earl Spencer, currently lives there with his family. It was a visit brought together by the British American Committee. The weather was classic overcast and drizzly English rain. The tour was pleasant. The private tea time we had was wonderful. I discovered the joys of eating jam with clotted cream on a scone. We were happy to see that things were understated and the gift shop not overtly commercialized.
After seeing this house and the grounds, I can’t help but laugh when remembering that during the run up to her wedding Lady Diana was thought of as a commoner. What a different perspective on the world.
